ABM Specialist - Tysons, VA
The Account Based Marketing Professional, Digital Transformation Accounts, is responsible for planning and executing a multitude of marketing programs – e.g. account intelligence gathering, demand creation, reputation support and sales enablement – in agreed-upon large accounts to support sales goals.
Roles and Responsibilities
This role will work very closely with as many as seven “tier 1” account teams to help penetrate deeper and wider into the account. They will participate in sales strategy and planning meetings and will be very well versed in the dynamics of those accounts.
Translate sales objectives (both opportunity-based and relationship-based) into objectives and project plans for marketing support
Provide ongoing data and insights on assigned accounts and contacts within these accounts
Educate account teams on the potential role of marketing within global/strategic accounts
Execute marketing programs on behalf of sales, and demonstrate to reps how they can execute program elements on their own
Conduct outreach to global/strategic accounts to identify and mitigate any conflicts
Understand which internal organizational marketing campaigns and assets to leverage for account engagement planning
Orchestrate and lead ongoing account check-ins with account leadership to ensure account goals, key contacts and account plans remain on track, and discuss upcoming account requirements and modifications
Internally promote account-specific engagement marketing plans, updating these plans based on account executive collaboration (and sometimes securing additional budget from sales to execute
Build, socialize and activate a dedicated marketing plan for each assigned account sales team.
Coordinate the direct involvement of other cross functional marketing resources as needed to ensure success for these important accounts.
Background and Experience Required
Experience in working closely with sales
7+ years of marketing experience (10 preferred); 3+ years in Demand Generation or general Marketing Programs role
Experience working at or with creative agencies
Experience in leveraging online and social media technologies to drive awareness and build pervasive relationships
Experience with marketing automation platforms and marketing analytics
Proven record of partnering with sales to meet or exceed pipeline and revenue targets
Highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced team, fluid environment and is readily adaptable to changing market and organizational conditions
BSc in Marketing or Business required
Strong marketing automation platform experience, preferably Marketo
Versed in the use of CRM tools, preferably SalesForce and other sales tools (account planning, playbooks, etc.)
Database and analytics tools
Content management tools
Ability to leverage data and insights in the development of marketing plans aligned to account strategies
Demand creation, both sales-led and marketing-led
Goal and task prioritization
Strong oral and written communication skills
Social media planning and execution through Social Media team (appropriate, effective use of common social media sites and technologies)
