Job Description:

Perform business functions to allow Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance (DMMA) to provide pharmacy services

to its providers and members. These business functions include ensuring accurate and timely processing of Point of Sale

(POS) and National Council of Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) Encounter claims, maintaining quality call center

service, and accurate and timely processing of prior authorization requests. Reviewing and resolving pharmacy claim

issues such as questions from providers related to ProDUR messages, coordination of benefits, pricing questions, and

escalation of critical issues or requests for clinical consultations to the pharmacist on-call.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate as a key member of the team, possibly in a team lead role.

  • Complete complex tasks in accordance with defined procedures.

  • Actively make suggestions for creative solutions to existing processes.

  • Complete multiple complex assignments simultaneously but with complete accuracy.

  • Resolve complex assignments with minimal input from leadership.

  • Identify, prioritize and resolve questions and issues independently.

  • Assist in answering questions of peers and escalate more complex questions or issues appropriately.

  • Interpret and provide recommendations based on existing contract requirements, business rules, related industry and

legal regulations.

  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and/or holidays.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; may hold 2 year post-high school Degree; may hold Bachelor’s degree.

  • One year experience in a retail pharmacy, Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong office experience and skills, possibly in a lead capacity.

  • Strong healthcare related knowledge.

  • Intermediate to senior level knowledge of operating systems, and of software skills.

  • Ability to develop and document procedures.

  • Ability to research and resolve inquiries.
