Job Description:

Applies specialized knowledge to conceptualize, design, develop, unit-test, configure, and implement portions of new or enhanced (upgrades or conversions) business and technical software solutions through application of appropriate standard software development life cycle methodologies and processes. Interacts with the Client and project roles (e.g., Project Manager, Business Analyst, Data Engineer) as required, to gain an understanding of the business environment, technical context, and organizational strategic direction. Defines scope, plans, and deliverables for assigned components. Understands and uses appropriate tools to analyze, identify, and resolve business and or technical problems. Applies metrics to monitor performance and measure key project parameters. Prepares system documentation. Conforms to security and quality standards. Stays current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.

  • Integrates technical expertise and business understanding to create superior solutions for clients.

  • Consults with team members and other organizations, clients and vendors on complex issues.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Typically a technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of related experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience.

  • IT work experience 3+ yrs inside DXC or equivalent company

  • Unix 3+ yrs

  • C/C++ 3+ yrs

  • SQL 3+ yrs

  • Scripting 3+ yrs

  • Database systems 3+ yrs

  • Healthcare 3+ yrs

Required Skills:

  • Unix environment like HP/UX, SOLARIS or Linux

  • C/C++ language.

  • SQL and knows what proC

  • Basic scripting under ksh, csh or bash

  • Have used GDB or DBX on the past#

  • Knows awk and sed tools

  • Understand what XML is and what it is used for.

  • Understands the concept of libraries and knows how to build one.

  • Knows how to make mass downloads and uploads to database tables in batch mode.

  • Basic knowledge on Autosys and Jobs and Jils

- At least a basic understanding about the Claims system.

  • Experience with systems interfacing with databases.

  • Must have healthcare experience in Claims or other areas.

  • Helps to solve small issues and is able to give support to other team members.

Preferred Skills:

Has worked with Oracle database before and used tools like sqlplus and proC to integrate with C code.

  • Has used TFS before or a similar Integrated Development Environment tool for development

  • Has used version control systems in the past

  • Is able to work directly on the UNIX environment using vi.

  • Understands what a schema is and how we can transform xml data using xsl.

  • Basic knowledge in Object Oriented programming.

  • Resources jumping to claims coming from BPA, TPL, Member or Provider subsystems.

  • Understands what autosys is and how its used.

  • Ideally is someone coming from inside DXC that understands the methodologies we follow and the documentation patterns we use.

  • Rules Engine experience

  • BPA experience
